About me
I’m Myriam Chebat,. I hold a Master's degree in Social Work and more than 14 years of experience supporting people through difficult, uncertain and changing periods of their lives.
My career has taken me across Canada, Israel and Europe, working in community mental health, crisis intervention, humanitarian services, healthcare and military-family support. A common thread throughout that work has been helping people adapt when the world around them changes, whether because of relocation, loss, professional upheaval, family stress, crisis or a major life transition.
My approach is practical, collaborative and grounded in the person’s real life. I’m interested not only in what you’re feeling, but in what is happening around you, what has changed, what you have been carrying, and what might actually help.
I don’t believe every difficult experience needs to be pathologized, and I don’t believe support has to mean years of open-ended therapy.
Before private practice, my work included counselling through an employee assistance program, crisis and post-disaster support an international humanitarian organization, and developing a Europe-wide psychosocial program for internationally mobile families across 17 countries.
I work with adults in English and French, online across Israel and in person in Haifa.
